About Us
The 1st Carnoustie (6th Angus) Scout Group currently have a record number of over 120 youngsters enjoying Scouting in Carnoustie on a weekly basis.
In 2017 we started up of a third Cub Pack and the new Explorer Unit. The Scout Group currently comprises the 2 Beaver Colonies on a Monday and Friday, 3 Cub Packs meeting on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings, Scout Troop on a Friday and Explorer Unit also on a Friday. Our Scout Troop has continued to have strong membership.
All of the sections take part in events both at district level in South Angus, regional events in the East of Scotland as well as National events across Scotland.
We currently have the following warranted leaders – 2 Beaver Scout Leader and 3 Assistants, 3 Cub Scout Leaders and 3 Assistants and 1 Scout Leader with 1 Assistant. We also have 6 young leaders on the training programme and 2 further leaders awaiting warrants. We continue to have great support from parents willing to help out on occasion. With this committed, talented and dedicated team of leaders suitably complimented by a hard working parent’s executive, Scouting in Carnoustie continues to be strong. This combination ensures that Carnoustie Scout Group is able to offer a varied programme to the 120 regular members every week. As always we are continually on the lookout for anyone able and willing to help out in whatever way.
