Scouts
There are current 40 Scouts in the Troop this includes 7 girl Scouts.
This year the troop have been involved in a number of camps including a firm favorite Barrwood near Stirling and also a site in the Forth Valley. They have visited a local small holding farm and enjoyed a summer trip to the Falkirk Wheel and Kelpies. During the summer a number of the Scouts attended the 4 day International Jamborette Camp at Blair Atholl where they had the opportunity to meet hundreds of scouts from around the world. A favorite activity was swapping badges for the camp blankets.
The scouts have also camped in hammocks as part of their Zodiac Challenge badge.
November saw the first of the Young Leaders training camp held at the Jock Neish Centre in Forfar. It also saw the Remembrance Day Parade attended by a large number of local organisations.
Other events have included:
- BBQ and adventure fun day at Crombie Park
- Panto at Carnoustie High School
- Family Carol Service at Monifieth Parish Church
- Scout Xmas Party with everyone wearing Christmas Jumpers and Neckies
- A February Sub zero camp
- Founders Day with fun in the afternoon at Carnoustie High School
- The Scout Music Group played at the Arbroath Music Festival and won a number of awards
- Dundee Gang Show at the Whitehall Theatre
- Camp on Carnoustie Beach again part of the Zodiac Challenge
- Quadrathon in Combrie Country Park
- Florida International Jamborette
Later in the year they have a summer trip will to Stirling Castle and Skate Park plus the summer camp this year will be Gibraltar.
